Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of PressWerk. Please read section 4, which limits what we are responsible for, and section 11, which affects how disputes are resolved.
1. What PressWerk Is
PressWerk is operated by PressWerk Tech LLC, a Florida company. We do two things: we inspect and repair artwork files so they meet commercial printing requirements, and we route the resulting order to an independent print shop near you.
PressWerk Tech LLCadmin@presswerk.tech
We are not a printing company. We own no presses and manufacture nothing. Every physical product is produced by an independent business that sets its own prices, schedules and quality standards. That business, not PressWerk, is the seller of the printed goods.
2. Eligibility and Your Account
You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us and for anything done through your account. Tell us promptly at admin@presswerk.tech if you believe your account has been accessed by someone else.
3. Your Files and Your Rights In Them
You keep full ownership of everything you upload. We claim no rights in your artwork beyond the limited permission needed to run the service.
By uploading a file you grant PressWerk a non-exclusive, revocable licence to store, process, modify and transmit that file for the sole purpose of preparing and fulfilling your order. That includes sending it to the print shop that produces your job. We do not license, sell, publish or use your artwork for marketing, and we do not use it to train machine learning models.
You confirm that you own the artwork or have permission to print it, and that it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, publicity or privacy rights. You are solely responsible for that. If a third party brings a claim against us because of something you uploaded, you agree to cover our reasonable costs in defending it.
4. What We Repair, and Its Limits
Our preflight engine detects and corrects common production faults, including insufficient bleed, incorrect colour space, unembedded fonts, low effective resolution and incorrect trim geometry. We show you a report and, where possible, a preview before you approve the job.
Repair is not design review. We do not check spelling, grammar, layout, phone numbers, dates, prices or whether the finished piece says what you intended. We do not judge whether your design is appropriate for the product. Approving the proof means you accept the file as it will be printed.
Colour reproduction varies between substrates, presses and viewing conditions. Screens are backlit and printing is not, so a printed piece will never match a monitor exactly. Reasonable colour variation is not a defect.
Production is the shop's decision. A print shop may accept your job but choose not to run PressWerk's repaired production file — for example if it prefers your original, needs a different imposition, or has a substrate-specific workflow. That is the shop's prerogative as the producer. If the shop prints from a different file, modifies the supplied production PDF, or applies press settings that differ from what you approved, any resulting quality problem is between you and that shop, not PressWerk.
When a defect is in our file (in-network shops). Each repaired production file we deliver is sealed with a cryptographic fingerprint stored at checkout. If you ordered through an in-network shop (one that published a print price on PressWerk) and a printed piece fails, investigation may confirm the defect came solely from PressWerk's sealed file and that the shop printed that exact file without alteration. In that case we re-prepare the artwork at no additional PressWerk fee, help coordinate a remake with the shop, and contribute fifty percent (50%) of verified direct remake material cost — part of how in-network shops use PressWerk. This does not apply to out-of-network shops that quoted print separately, colour variation within normal print tolerance, customer-approved content errors, shop-side production mistakes, or defects from a file the shop chose not to use. Contact customerservice@presswerk.tech with your order reference.
5. Orders, Approval and Cancellation
Your order is a request until a print shop accepts it. We may decline or cancel any order, for example where no shop in range can produce it, where the file cannot be made printable, or where the content is unlawful.
Once you approve the proof and a shop begins production, the order cannot be cancelled or changed. Printing is made to order and has no resale value to anyone else.
6. Fees and Payment
PressWerk charges a flat $20 for each file we repair, or $10 for a file that arrives press-ready and requires no repair work. We take no percentage of, and no commission on, the price of the printing itself. Files we determine cannot be produced are not charged for. The print shop's price for the printing is separate and is shown to you before you pay.
Payments are processed by Stripe. PressWerk never receives, handles or stores your card number. Applicable state and local sales tax, including Florida sales tax, is added at checkout. Prices may change at any time but never after you have placed an order.
7. Collection and Delivery
PressWerk does not ship. Orders are either collected in person at the producing shop or delivered locally by that shop where it offers delivery. Collection windows and delivery areas are set by the shop. Uncollected work may be disposed of by the shop under its own policy, and that does not entitle you to a refund.
8. Acceptable Use
You may not use PressWerk to produce counterfeit currency, identity or government documents, material that sexualises minors, unlawful threats, or anything infringing or illegal under Florida or federal law. You may not attempt to breach, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the service. We may suspend or terminate access for violations, without refund of fees already earned.
We may preserve and disclose account information and uploaded content when we believe in good faith that disclosure is required to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or an enforceable governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of PressWerk, our users, or others. We will comply with valid law-enforcement requests to the extent required by law.
9. Independent Print Shops
In-network shops publish print prices on PressWerk before you pay. Out-of-network shops are listed without a print price — they send a quote after reviewing your file. PressWerk's print-failure remedy (section 4) applies only when an in-network shop printed the exact sealed production file we prepared.
Print shops on our network are independent businesses — independent contractors, not employees, agents, or partners of PressWerk. The shop-side terms are in our Partner Network Agreement. We vet shops on capability and performance, but we do not control their premises, staff, equipment settings, or day-to-day production. Your contract for the printed goods is with the shop. Claims about print quality, timeliness, or physical damage are primarily between you and that shop, though we will help you raise them and will investigate when a claim involves a PressWerk-prepared file from an in-network shop as described in section 4.
10. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted or error free.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PressWerk's total liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount of PressWerk fees you paid us for the order giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost business or lost opportunity, even if advised of the possibility. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict of law rules. Before filing anything, you agree to contact us at admin@presswerk.tech and give us 30 days to resolve the matter. Any dispute not resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Broward County, Florida, and you consent to that jurisdiction. Nothing here prevents either party from bringing a qualifying claim in small claims court.
12. Our Intellectual Property
PressWerk™ and the PW* device are trademarks of PressWerk Tech LLC, claimed through use in commerce. The PressWerk name, wordmark, interface, documentation and underlying software are owned by PressWerk Tech LLC and protected by intellectual property law. These Terms grant you a limited, personal, revocable licence to use the service, and nothing more. You may not copy, reverse engineer or create derivative works from the platform.
13. Changes and Contact
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be posted here with a revised date, and continued use after that constitutes acceptance.
